Fast moving scarf for a quick present and a nice stash buster. I am using fingering weight held double instead of lace and only 3 colors, 2 similar and 1 contrasting. I dropped and picked up one new color after every 2 (4-row) repeats instead of after every repeat, keeping the other color the same to mix with all 3. That way I was only changing one color every 8 rows.
I had a difficult time at first getting the chevron pattern to line up correctly; first and last stitches are not clear in the directions. I frogged rows 2-4 several times getting it to line up exactly and to keep the sides straight. Stitch #10, 20, and 30 of the sc rows should be at the center point peaks and row count of the sc stays at 40. Row 1, a dc row, I started in the usual 2nd stitch; row 2, a sc row, I started in the 3rd stitch; row 3, a dc row, I started in the 3rd stitch; row 4, a sc row, I started in the first ch sp, keeping odd stitches in ch sp and even stitches in a stitch.
I put a small drop of fabric softener in the water when I soaked it and wet blocked.
