I purchased this pattern forever ago and just got around to completing it. I LOVE the original colors but had to work with what I had on hand so I used Aran, Heather gray (would have loved to have the taupe mist) and cherry red. The monkey was incredibly easy to make. I found a granny square pattern online (free) and used it to make a coordinating blanket. I made 20 rounds total and added pom-poms (same size as the ones on the monkey’s head) for each corner.

The only change I made was to crochet my rounds continuously and start every round with a magic ring/circle. I like this method best and it doesn’t leave a seam. The only reason I see for starting the rounds the way stated in the pattern was to avoid the “jog” with the color changes. I don’t mind this so I chose to do without joining rounds.

Great pattern though, I’m planning on purchasing more but have to work through all of my patterns AND my yarn stash b/f I can buy anything else :( Thanks so much for providing the patterns, very detailed and easy to read.
