I used the same draft as the runner. I changed warp yarn and colors.
Warp 8/2 Maysville cotton from Great Northern Weaving
Thin Weft 16/2 cotton royal blue
Thick weft Midi string yarn in blue
Hems 8/2 blue cotton in plain weave sheds, shafts 4&5. 1.75” hems, sewed rolled hems with sewing machine
6 meter warp
804 ends, 402 heddles
Same color order as table runner, different 6 colors
Navy 201 ends
Smokey Blue 201 ends
Unknown green 198 ends
Velvet 30 ends
Copper 132 ends
Dusty rose (or maybe pale rose) 42 ends
2 ends of 8/2 in each heddle
I wanted to use 60/10 reed (15dpi), 4 ends per dent. This would be 33.5cm (13.18”) wide in the reed.
BUT…
My Inox reed was marked incorrectly. It’s actually a 65/10epc (16dpi) reed, sold to me as a 15 dpi reed.
SO…
These placemats were 30.92cm/12.56” wide in the reed.
26 ends per centimeter/64 ends per inch
I wove 2 repeats of the center design with 2 thick/thin picks of treadles 4&5 between. Each one woven to 22”, including 1.75” hems.
This 6 meter warp made 7 placemats.
Next time, warp 7 meters for 8 placemats.
