To make use of all the yarn available I went for a top-down construction.
Choosing a deeper v-neck seemed like an obvious decision as well. Still, I hadn’t anticipated how deep it would turn out :-)
Notes and recipe:
Make two mirrored shoulder straps:
Provisional CO 12 sts.
row 1 - knit
row 2 - purl
row 3 onwards - begin short show shaping - every 4 sts.
Finish with knit row, having picked up all shadow wraps.
Unpick provisional CO, pick up 12 sts.
row 1 - purl
row 2 - knit
row 3 onwards - begin short show shaping - every 4 sts.
Finish with purl row, having picked up all shadow wraps.
Body:
Front:
Increases for the v-neck - every 6th row.
Back:
When the length of the back shoulder straps measures 5 cm/2, CO 36st and connect parts. To make the back neck line smoother, make a couple of increases to the inner sides of shoulder straps, and then CO the remaining required number of stitches for the back.
Front and back - when the length of the armhole is 20 cm, begin increases for the sides to connect, 1 st every right side row, each side = 4 sts increased
Pick up 7 sts at once between the sides (both underarms), connecting back and front parts.
4+7+4=15 sts extra for the underarms. Put markers.
Continue increases for the v-neck, connect front parts.
When the work measures 6 cm down from the underarms, begin waist shaping: decrease 6sts in between the markers. 3x2 every 4th row. 9 sts are left between the markers.
Knit on for about 9cm.
Begin increases in the waist area. 3x2 every 4th row.
Again 15 sts between markers.
Neckline ribbing: pick up 33+88+1+88=210 sts, 3X3 ribbing for 11 rounds. 12th round - cast off.
Armholes: pick up 102 sts, 3X3 ribbing for 11 rounds. 12th round - cast off.
Continue body till run out of yarn.
