Notes

Moosehead Lake, Maine :The floor of this cabin…painted the same green.

We rented it for a week when I was 6 (1961).
My father was a tanker pilot during the Cold War out of Loring AFB, Maine. He refueled bombers over Russia .
He refueled fighters over Vietnam in ‘65 when we were in Mather AFB , Calif. He was gone for weeks…which turned into months. It was always a surprise when he came home…

The Cold War…It was a real thing. laughable now…. We had cases of canned water in our coat closet. My father instructed my mother , who could NOT drive , “If war was declared, you need to drive north to Canada.” Nuclear war was a real fear. A palpable fear.

Moosehead Lake , Me. Was the only placed they relaxed….. We ate my mothers’ pancakes, crepes as I know them now as an adult, with butter, salt and Karo’s syrup. She was a southern girl , from Tennessee…Butter, salt and sugar…the three food groups. (Variations of the three…pulled pork, fried chicken, fresh tomatoes, collard greens, corn bread)…it was the only place they relaxed.

Saw this sweater done- by bceiga on Instagram and fell in love with it.
She was kind enough to share her colours . Thank you, Barbaraceiga. I hope I do as good of work on this sweater.

Oh, Kate Davies, you owe Ms Ceiga a commission as I bought your pattern based on her Instagram inspiration

Did not cut the steek stitches until button bands completely finished as to decrease stretch at neck.
When doing left and right bands remember to add 3 stitches to each end so when picking up edging stitches, finished band looks like 2,2,2 but in actuality 3,2,2,…….2,2,3. I forgot and NOW I have to do “sum thinkin’”.

ARGHHHH! end game… I’m totally screwing up the finishing.

Back has waist decreases over 6 inches.

FITS LIKEA DREAM
