Cammy brought her blending board to knitting group, and we made a little watermelon batt shading from Green to White to Red with some black spots. We pulled two big rolags off it and I spun them both onto a little top whorl spindle, working from the red end of one and then from the green end of the second, so I could Andean ply and get a gradient. Not much yarn - maybe 10 yards? - so I knew it had to be a small project.
I knit this at a very tight gauge - it is bullet proof! But that kept it small. I love how rustic it is. Totally made up the sock as I went - threw in a few arch increases, and then I used a tiny Sweet Tomato Heel. The cuff is reverse stockinette - I increased quite a bit right after the turning round of purl.
