I made a version of 40 Winks and now have tweaked it enough to call it my own I think.
Amanda’s cat, Penny is EVER so lightly cross eyed, and truly does look like Barbra. And she CERTAINLY deserves this cat bed.
I am using up odds and ends of my yarn, many 1 or 2 skein purchases I will never use for anything else, and tons of handspun. Some of it is even handspun dog hair!
4 strands of yarn held together, SS gauge is 11 sts and 17 rows per 5”. In linen stitch, gauge is 11 sts. and 18 r per 5”. Bottom is 31 sts by 64 rows.
For edges/walls of bed, 31 sts across top and bottom and pu 41 along sides. Begin linen stitch with symmetrical decreases at all four corners x 4 spaced throughout the knitting (14 rows). Ended with attached I cord on size 13 needles.
Cut a piece of foam 18 1/2 x 13. Knitting a tube of 64 sts, began with Judy’s magic cast on. Again, 4 strands of yarn on 15’s.
1” strips of plastic from walls and curve to spout of one gallon vinegar container, covered with 8 stitch tube 100 rows long (ss 6 ) done on knitting machine. placed against the curve and sewn in place. Elastic inserted around edge.
