I found this picture of a hat on Pinterest. It is from a Russian pattern. I found a translation on a knitting group site. 10 motifs around was way too much, did 8 instead. C/O 104 sts and did 4 rows of a rib that flowed nicely into the pattern when increased to 112. 6 sections for top of head decreases. Nice, but I would prefer a patterned band just a bit wider.
