Oh My - finished these a while ago and never updated Rav! I gave these to Doe from my knitting group as a belated Christmas 2011 present.
These need bells on the tip tops of the triangles! Spinning the wool from the dyed roving I bought from DBNY a while ago. Finally a use for all those shades, and spinning up a 22 yd skein of a wonderfully colorful roving is a delight.
You can get away with fewer colors, some shades are used only once and then only in a purl ridge.
The pattern is very well written, but neglects to let you know that for the first ring of triangles one must carry the contrasting color loosely along the back of the triangle (weaving it in) you are working on in order to have it in place for the next triangle. Easiest to kitchener the ring together rather than using the 3 needle bind off. Also, when I p/u stitches, I did 5 for the side of the triangle, and only 1 for the point, seemed more reasonable.
This is the type of pattern that calls for one to sit back occasionally and weave in the ends, otherwise the final finishing could be brutal.
Did not change to 2.25 needles until beginning of second triangle/rectangle band, was not really on purpose, but there is just so much going on with this pattern, color changes, leaning angle changes, needle size changes.
After increasing to 56 sts. on last teal rows of legs, switched to 2.75 needles (just looks like it might be a binding instep)
