If you haven’t knit a Bonnie Sennott pattern yet, I highly recommend her! Her patterns are wonderful and her designs are classic and simple and very enjoyable to knit!

cast on at midnight 07-31-2014 while waiting for my husband to get home from work…doing standby at Jay Z / Beyoncé concert at Safeco Field…
project notes :
-
weighed yarn before starting so I can work to just before 1/2 gone before starting decreases (in case I can fit in a few more chart repeats and use most of my yarn) ~ starting weight 99.5g
-
the Swan’s Island yarn is sooo soft ~ pretty light for a fingering weight so went down one needle size to US5
-
used longtail cast on
-
for the 3 st bind off Row 4 of chart - doing my fave stretchy bind off for pretty scallops like Bonnie suggested (k1, k1, slide both back to left needle and k2togtbl - k1, slide both right needle stitches back to left needle and k2togtbl - k1, slide both right needle stitches back to left needle and k2togtbl)
-
at halfway mark per pattern (40st before marker) : I’m at 27.5g (144yds) used / 22.5” in length / 8.5” wide (unstretched / unblocked) -- I’ve only used a little less than a third of my yarn so I’m going to keep going for a bit with the increase section…
-
I did an extra 5 chart repeats (used 33.5g to this point) before starting decrease section (total of 45 stitches before marker)
-
total yarn used for bigger/modified shawl : 65.0g
-
unblocked :: 10” wide x 47” long
-
blocked :: 15” at widest point x 68” long
-
relaxed after blocking :: 12” x 61”
