This pattern worked up beautifully and exactly to size. It fits a child and an adult because it has 2 buttons and a little stretch.
As per pattern instructions, this headband is worked holding 2 strands of yarn. I worked from 2 separate skeins for ease, although the project consumed less than half of each so I could have just wound off half of one and been ok. I don’t know if this would be the case with a worsted weight yarn as the mohair I used is very fine and I knitted very tightly as the pattern instructed.
The pattern includes instructions for a knitted or a crocheted Begonia. I chose to make the crocheted flower for a more vintage look. I did end up adding one extra row of sc around the edge of the 3rd row of petals to make the flower a little bigger.
These adorable flower buttons were purchased at Walmart in the fabric department and actually very closely matched the pink yarn I already had at home. Also the little fabric rose in the center of the flower was purchased at Walmart in a package of assorted colors of of satin accent roses by Offray.
