Started this shawl a few weeks ago with the Diamond Yarn Luxury Collection Fine Merino Aran Super Wash in this soft purple. Wanted to design a shawl, with an Urban and more contemporary feel to it. Also wanted to make it an easy to crochet pattern, eventually when I get around to patterning it. Still in the working stage and deciding if I will embellish it or leave it plain. Also deciding if I like the neckline as it is or if I am going to change it. So I am at a bit of a stand still until I figure these things out. I will post more information and pictures once I decide my direction to take this design.

Well it is finished and I decided to go the direction of leaving the shawl not embellished and adding an embellished broche that can be used on the shawl to hold it in various styles or off and use a pin of another type if you like. You can also use the embellished broche on another item in your wardrobe. This way the Urban feel is prominent in this design and distracted by extra embellishments. On that note I will likely do a version that is embellished just to see the results.

I really enjoyed working with this yarn. It is wonderfully soft and the colour is fabulous. I mixed it with some Malabrigo Rios on the broche, I used Peidras colour way which is lovely greens with hints of yellow orange and purple.

I may pattern this design in the future as I am currently working on my pattern writing skills, which I have done in the past, but wanted to update my skills before I do this. So check back to see if and/or when this design is available as a pattern.
