Read on for Hand written Lace Edging Chart and Bead placement:)
Pattern Gifted from peatmoss83!!!! Yarn gifted from SpinKnitUp! Thank you so much!!!!!
Putting first round of beads on the points of the lace edging! (First stich or row 4 in repeat section)
Ok If I continued with the size 6 needle my lace edging would have been ten feet long! So I unraveled all 700+ stitches and started using the number 4 instead. Hahahaha so that’s why they say make a swatch!!!! (booo to me!) I normally knit tight, but this beautiful silk is so silky smooth that I must be knitting really really loose!
UGH UGH UGH…for whatever reason I cant get through repeat 1 after ripping… now i keep ripping!!!! I think I’m still mad about unraveling the size 6 work!
8/8/12 Back on track and gauge is perfecto! I’m getting kinda tired of the lace and I still have 60 repeats of 8 rows to go! I wouldn’t be so tired of it if there were some simple knit rows in between… but the constant looking at each stitch instruction is tedious…. I decided to write out the first chart so that I didn’t get confused by the symbols meaning different stitches on RS and WS.

I also have been putting in my lifeline at the end of every 2 repeats!!! LOL I know 16 rows of 12 or so stitches and I need a life line?!?! YES! If you have two busy kids… or like a glass of wine while you knit, DO THIS WITHOUT FAIL!!!! HAHAHA you hath been forewarned!
I’m sure when it’s all said and done with I’m going to rejoice at my hard work and efforts! Adding beads does help too, at least my mangled knotted blah (as of now) looks kinda sparkly!;)
8/9 HUZZAH! I’m at repeat 18 or 71!!!! That’s huge for me! I’m finding now that I’m mostly used to each row, the pattern isn’t so tedious anymore, I can anticipate the next round of stitches better and I’m knitting a little faster. This is getting really long though…. really really long!
8/10/12 Finished row 30!!! Almost half way done, and this thing is HUGE!!!!
8/28/12~~~ Been busy with other fun projects.. at row 35 finally… half way there! ugh… half way???
9/26/12 UGH I broke my crochet hook….
1/17/2014 Finally picked this up again!!!! on repeat 54 of 71, going smoothly. I can’t even believe how long this edging has taken me to do!!! Hopefully it will be over with this week!
3/9/14 EDGING IS DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phew!!!! This has taken far far too long…. it sat on time out a lot;) Now onto the fun!!!!
