This is one of three jewelry cord patterns in the Interweave Crochet magazine, summer 2013 issue. It illustrates one of three handy ways to bead love knots. This Dragonfly Cord is fairly common, and my Sparkly Love Knot Lariat indie design is similar, but this one has refinements so that the beads settle symmetrically, and in balanced proportion to the stitches.

The beading methods work for other crochet stitches too, but love knots really show off one’s choices.

I love beading love knots. It’s not only an easy way to explore methods of crocheting with beads, it’s also a great way to illustrate all the special qualities of love knots in my classes!
