Pictured so far is just a test swatch from 5/27/17, which I used to propose a design to a pattern magazine. I can’t get it out of my head and now want to wear it this fall as a roomy ruana with tassels on the ends.

I’m crocheting it in strips, attaching each new strip as I go.

I’ve decided to randomly change the color of one diamond, or ‘pixel’.

Starting a CAL for this. Would work with any kind of yarn amount and thickness. Easy TV crocheting.

OK so it weighs 482g with all 29 strips completed. When I weigh what remains of each color, I get a total of 500g used:
