Notes

This design, which is part of a new crochet book called Delicate Crochet (see my blog post about it) is a confluence of several design inspirations over several years!

I’ve uploaded just a few of the prototype swatches that built on themselves to become Yveline.

What fascinates me the most is how on one hand, the love knot embellishment is frilly and romantic, and on the other hand also has an ultra-modern skeletal-lace urban feel. Part of it is the lean and steely effect of the base color I think.

Anyway, love knots manage to look industrial-modern-urban somehow. It’s not just the love knots, it’s the Tunisian eyelet base, like a metal grille (Grille is an early name I considered).
