From comments section on PurlBee for using different yarn gauges: “I would suggest making gauge swatches in each stitch pattern and then casting on, for the Three-and-One Tweed and the Basket Stitch, a multiple of 4 plus 3; and for the Triple L Tweed, a multiple of 3 plus 1”. Of course, I’m just guessing based on other people’s projects…but good advice nonetheless.
12/31/15: Three-and-One Tweed
CO 59 sts. Width is about 10” and length is 17” (before applied i-cord). I probably could have either CO 63, but it’s wide enough. Didn’t have the issues with applied i-cord that others had mentioned. Maybe because I’m working in a loser gauge?
Took 42 g of Linen and 38 g of Pomegranate.
After adding applied i-cord and blocking the towel measures 10.25” x 16.75”
1/4/15 Basket Weave
CO 55. Hoping this will give me the same width as the 3&1 tweed. Width before applied i-cord and blocking is approximately 10” and the length is about 17”.
Took 43 g of Linen and 34 g of Moroccan Red
After adding applied i-cord and blocking the towel measures 10.25” x 16.75”
1/19/15 Triple L Tweed
CO 55
Took 27 g Linen, 32 g Pomegranate , 26 g Moroccan Red
