I knit this as a comfort cap, a healing hat, for my friend Dwain, who has a brain tumor. The yarn looks like embers to me, and I wanted a metaphor to give Dwain something hopeful.

Cable cast on is new to me; used the stitchnerd tutorial; went up needle size to US8 for CO. US7 for body.

Knit ~7ish inches before decreases.
