Pattern chosen for May KAL for “Hat a Month” Ravelry group.

My second Bellezza, this time significantly lighter weight than the Amber Trinket in Vintage (worsted) - this time for the summer season in a related palette I wear often.

Started on US 6=4mm needles for “looseness” but the stitches looked messy and the pattern had no definition. Dropping down to a US 5= 3.75 mm was enough to shape it up.

MODS for sport weight:
CO 96 = (16) 6
Place marker, join in the round.
Rows 1-5: P, reverse stockinette for brim band.
Row 6: increase row = k 4, yo (= 120 st)
Row 7: stabilize stitches row = k4, ktbl of the yo from the previous row (this makes the increase stitch without a hole under it :-)

Start pattern. I suggest putting markers every 24 st to make it easier to recount stitches if the pattern goes astray.
Remember after completing row 5: knit one stitch and move the marker behind it. This resets the pattern for the next repetition.
