Love this pattern and I’m counting and counting to make sure I don’t have to frog.
11/27/13 Started. Read the notes on the running out of yarn or close to. I started with 400 yds so figured I was OK. Finished the body and had 42gms left and according to some of the notes I read on these projects I should have enough… NOT, the edging was eating up a lot of yarn!
12/3/13 I’m done with 1/4 of the edging and I have 24.5gms left which means that 1/4 of the edging took 17.5gms. So I only have enough yarn for 1/2 de edging and perhaps the short rows but not more :( I picked this shawl specifically for this yarn, as I only have one skein. I’ll have to check my stash and see if I have a contrasting color for the edging. If I don’t….I’m going to cry…
12/4/13 Found a yarn that will work, colorwise. Even though it’s fingering it seems a little thinner so we’ll see how it goes.
12/6/13 Finished and blocked! Love it! Added a single crochet edging to the top of the shawl that barely shows to make it match the different yarn from the edging. Final measurements when blocked 72” x 23”. If I’m crying now it’s from sheer happiness!

Used 180 yds/39gms of the edging yarn.
Used 232 yds/58gms of the main color yarn.
I have never understood how they define both yarns as fingering. Once has 400yds per 100gm skein, whereas the other has 462yds per 100gms! In all it took 432gms to make the shawl but you can’t just go buy a 420gm skein, can you?
