Notes

11/8 - It took me all of 2 days to knit this up, maybe a total of 6 hours knitting time. It is so very cute. On an adult it is more of a Kerchief - it serves the same function as a cowl, only you don’t have to pull it over your head.

But it also would be perfect as a proportionally full sized shawl on a child. In the pictures you can see it on my average sized 5 yr old son. I am going to try and get a photo-shoot with one of his girl friends so that I can put an official like shot on the pattern page.

The final detail is of the stitch pattern. In the Mapes prototype I used the kfb two stitch pattern, and I wanted to see how the YO two stitch pattern came out. I think it is great. It has a different look - but blocks out nicely.

11/2 - When I was trying to figure out what yarns to suggest for this pattern I realized that it would look great in Silky. And then I thought - I wonder what only one skein would look like? I shouldn’t have cast it on, I have several WIP and a ton of other things to do, but the thought just kept poking at me.

So I cast on last night and we will see what happens! I have two skeins, just in case - but I want to see the baby Mapes.
