It’s tough to be such a cowardly king! The Lion follows along with Dorothy and her other friends to the fabulous Emerald City, where he hopes the Wizard of Oz will give him courage. The courage the Wizard originally provides in the book is green liquid and comes out of a bottle – lots of people do find their bravery at the bottom of a glass like that. But I decided to show our Lion as the brave and happy creature that laughs at his former cowardice. ^_^
This listing is for the Cowardly Lion Crochet pattern. This pattern will make one male lion with tail, mane, and crown. Each doll will wind up being about 18 inches tall by 10 inches wide.
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was written by L. Frank Baum and published in 1900. However, the book lapsed into public domain in 1956, so the characters are available for free use in other works – such as my dolls!
Please be aware that, although I try to make my patterns as simple and easy to understand as possible, you may get more value from them if you are an intermediate to experienced crocheter. A familiarity with sc, dc, increases, decreases, and working in the round will serve you in good stead. :)
Patterns ordered from me will be delivered by email in .pdf format, either as an attachment or a downloadable link, so please make sure you have a working email address included in your payment information.
