This week’s GIFT project is one of my favourite makes from last year, and I think this is the perfect gift for any busy parent of little ones. Wouldn’t this be perfect to occupy and busy bees you know?

It is an easy make, and the little duck pond forms a bag to contain the duck and duckling finger puppets. I made mine in DK, but the original is in worsted so be careful about making the puppets the correct size for little fingers.

I ran out of blue yarn, but found some embroidery thread and a similar blue yarn to finish the pond. I also made my cord a bit thicker and sturdier by slip stitching back on the cord.

I made mine as a prop originally but I always intended to give it away, and it ended up as a birthday gift for Poppi next door. But I was reluctant to let it go!
