This pattern when using the kid size is for a really small hand. They fit my 4 year old, but my 5 yr old not so much. My 5 year old does have big hands so you might be able to get this on a kid up to age 6. I am going to modify for my boys hands when I do theirs.

I changed this pattern a lot. To make since you will need original pattern in front of you.

I only ch 10 for the cuff

I used 22 rows around for the cuff
Hand

round 1 20 slip st evenly around

round 2 sc 9, 2 sc in next repeat (22)

round 3 sc 10, 2 sc in next repeat (24)

round 4 sc 11, 2 sc in next repeat (26)

Thumb opening

ch1, sc next 21, ch 4, then sc 1

Upper hand

sc around for 9 rounds for small kid hand (11 for bigger kid hand) (for the green strip look I changed out colors on round 10-14)

round 1 sc 11, sc2tog repeat

round 2 sc 10, sc2tog repeat

round 3 sc 9, sc2tog repeat

round 4 sc 8, sc2tog repeat

sc2tog around 14 times fasten off

I went around 5 times for small hand and plan to add three more rows for my 5 year olds thumb because he has big hands.
