This is going to be my submission to the 2009 Sydney Royal Easter Show.

January 3: Dear God, this thing is KILLING ME. I’m knitting the front and back at the same time on a long cable needle, and it’s a good thing because I don’t think I could bear doing one piece and then having to make another. Do you know how long it takes to knit 60cm of densely cabled fabric? This jumper has turned into the Slog of all Slogs. I’m only an inch or two from the shoulder shaping though… Trying to hang on…

February 22: I’m in the home stretch now! The sleeves are finished and have been blocked in preparation for sewing up. I did have a minor scare regarding the yarn quantity. I thought 18 skeins would be plenty, but at this point I’ve only got maybe 10 grams left in total! I haven’t been able to locate anymore of my dye lot yet. Still, if I have to use another dye lot to do the collar, it should be okay.

March 20: Sewing up is happening. (Did it really take me a month to get ‘round to that? Sheesh.)

March 28: IT’S DONE. Being delivered to the Easter Show today! There’s a slight visible dent on the front from my drying rack, but I’m going to steam it out before I drop it off.
