I CRACKED IT!

It took me several prototypes to actually figure out how to get a scannable knitted QR code on my mittens. The keys were to get a higher resolution by knitting the code much finer than the actual mitten, and to BLOCK THE CRAP out of it to get it square. Once I did that, it worked!
