Notes

For my office’s 2015 Kris Kringle gift exchange, I got a colleague who is mathematician and engineer. He’s very into dark European films and quantum physics. My genius idea was to knit him Shrödinger’s Cat!

For the cat itself, I used the “Tabitha the Destash Kitty” pattern. I held two strands of 4-ply sock wool together: one a deep reddish-brown, and the other a brown/white faux fairisle. I actually attached four feet, two on each side, and I made sure to center the tail (rather than pull it around to the “front”). For the “alive” face, I sewed on buttons for the eyes. For the “dead” face, I used black wool to make X’s for eyes.

You can read more about the other components of the gift over on my blog.
