Notes

I received a trial ball of this yarn from the Australian distributor and immediately cast on for these socks. My initial impressions are… that it’s just like normal Kureyon. GREAT colour, extremely rough feeling, really wants to twist up on itself, the usual random bits of vegetation you find in Noro, etc. I also found that the usual 2.75mm needles I use for socks were coming out very tight, so I’ve actually gone up to 3.25mm. Also note the very long colour repeat. I’m knitting one socks from the outside of the ball and one from the inside, so the progression goes in reverse. I’ve only just started to see the end of the pattern, well after I’ve finished the whole foot and turned the heel.

As for the pattern: I’m not sure I like the look/fit of the reverse turned heel, but I LOVE Judy's Magic Cast-On. I’ll be using this for all my toe-up socks from now on!

Later: Finished! I wanted to see just how long this ball would go, so I just kept knitting. These are without a doubt the longest pair of socks I’ve ever gotten from a 100g ball of wool. I started to get worried about them fitting over my calf, so I switched to a K1P1 rib for the last couple of inches. I used a tubular cast off for the legs.
