1/8 - This yarn is gorgeous - it’s a little more beige/greige than gray.
First time using a long tail purl cast on:

Planning to shorten the length on this - I’ll have to do some math to figure out how to shorten the torso. I’m thinking only 14 rounds between decreases and knitting so the distance from the top of the back ribbing to the underarm is 9.“ To try to keep things proportional, I’m reducing the length of the back ribbing from 4” to 3.5”. (Plan to knit the front ribbing to ~2-2.25”.)
1/9 - Just started the “Establish Main Fabric” section of the back and I’m having trouble discerning for the first WS row (after the RS increase row) what I’m supposed to do to “maintain pattern” before the first marker and after the second marker. Should the two sts after the selvedge be knit or purled to maintain pattern?! And then I presume I knit the knits and purl the purls for the next 12 sts. / ETA: Messaged the designer (she was SO responsive!!) and she responded that the two sts after the selvedge should be in stockinette - so for the WS row they would be purled - in other words, {K1}, P2, 12 sts in ribbing… I think I was confused because for the main section, the pattern did specify purling rather than just saying to maintain the pattern and it made me second guess myself.
1/18 - Finished the back. I do wish the pattern had written out how to do the sloped bind off - I wasn’t sure about the right-leaning slope, which wasn’t shown in the video tutorials I looked at. I followed the pattern instructions and for the first BO st on the wrong side (always the left shoulder as worn), slipped the first st purlwise. For the right shoulder, I slipped the first st when binding off on the right side. Still not sure I got this right, but I figure it will probably be hidden by the seaming.
My gauge has turned out to be quite off… I’m hoping blocking will be magical and give me a lot of stretch but I may be hoping for too much and this may need to become a gift for someone smaller than me!
1/19 - Blocked the back overnight and got quite a lot of stretch so I think it will fit… phew! Went from 16” across the back pre-blocking to about 20”.
2/22 - Finally finished all the knitting and seaming and weaving in ends. So much mattress stitch! But I’m happy with the result. The cropped length worked out perfectly for me - and post blocking the yarn grew quite nicely… it is fitted around the yoke/bust (admittedly, maybe a bit more snug than I would prefer!), but a boxy shape around the torso, which is what I was going for.
Overall, I think this sweater is super cute - the ribbed details are very eye catching and flattering. I think it could probably be modified to be knit in the round, which would avoid the seaming, but I am not into doing the deep thinking it would have taken to figure that out. The Corrie Confetti is beautiful for this pattern - very happy with the yarn and how much it stretched with blocking.
TV show binged:
Billions, Season 6 - Love Corey Stoll as a nearly worthy successor to Damien Lewis, though his end game was a bit predictable
