neck rib bind off
First time doing the folded rib this way. I like it. That said, the collar bind off is tight. It will go over a mannequin head of 21” around, but just barely. (Wish there was a schematic to compare to.) It’s not the opening or the rib itself, it’s the bind off attachment to the sweater…there is not a lot of give there. In researching on you tube how other people blind off a double rib, I see there can be issues with stretchiness and there are other methods to bind off that will produce more stretchiness in that seam. I am going to redo the bind off with a loose whip stitch as explained in this video.

plackets and buttonholes
So I had a hard time with this only because I could not wrap my head around the fact that on the right back and left front you are starting from the bottom of the vest and not the armpit. Would have been super helpful if the pattern explained this. Once I realized this, the buttonhole instructions became perfectly clear.

Note to self …next time, be sure to knit the same number of rows for the front and back from arm and hem ribs and the stockinette that falls in-between. failure to do this means you will not be able to pick up the same amount of stitches for all the plackets
