Tip…there is a wrap in the knotty stripe. Do yourself a favor and wrap from back to front to back (instead of the normal front to back). It makes knitting these stitches on the next row a hell of a lot easier :) and be careful when knitting the wrap that you get all 3.
2/11…almost done, garter stitch border will look nice
02/01…will add a garter stitch border. gauge of garter stitch was 5st/in. sooo, for top and bottom i picked up 23 and skipped one and for sides, i picked up 2, skipped one.
02/3/15…unblocked, working gauge is now 23s/5.75 x 30r/7.5, blanket w/o border is 25x29
Mods I will make:
Am not of fan of the seed stitch border. I also like the way borders look after they are added to the body. so i will be adding a garter stitch border after the main portion of the body (or maybe icord or maybe a turned hem or ?).
the pattern is based off of 6s x 9r. w/o the seed st border,
- width is 150 st = 26.6 and
- length is 226r = 25.1 4r in ss+ (16r stripe +27ss) x6 + one 16r stripe + 4r in ss)
my gauge is 5.5s x 7 r and i want the blanket to be 26 wide by 28 long with no border. will add 2” border after. So I will
- cast on 145 st = 26 inch. Note, the stripe pattern requires an odd number of stitches.
- k 4r ss rows + (16 stripe + 22ss) x6 +16 stripe + 4ss . total of 196 or 28 inch
