Left one first.

Hook:
5mm for cuff seems too big, 4.5 seems about right. First row came out 6.5 inch not 7 but my wrist is 6 so will continue.

Adjustments for smallish female hands:

• Only did 5 not 6 cuff rounds. Kept round numbers the same for ease of following pattern.
• Skipped last two rounds before making thumb, which means pattern alternates from how it’s written from there (on mitten two I think I kept getting this wrong anyway, there’s more of a visible seam…).
• Switched down hook size two rounds early.
• Decreases from round ‘35’ (remember I kept pattern numbering same despite fewer rounds) not 39.

Thumb as pattern. Just had enough yarn for one mitten in 50g skein.

Right mitten - same adjustments as the left, very small amount of yarn left.

I possibly could have gone down another hook size but decided not to have differently sized mittens! Finished just in time for a New Year outing.
