Nakia Infinity Scarf

This is not a pattern. These are just notes that I took as I went along. This is my interpretation of the charts…they may or may not be correct, but this is how I Made my version of the scarf

Provisional Cast on 90 with Noro (3 stitches knit selvage on each side selvage is UNDERSTOOD and continued throughout project. It is NOT MENTIONED again moving forward in any stitch counts, etc.)

I READ CHART LEFT TO RIGHT FOR ODD ROWS AND RIGHT TO LEFT FOR EVEN ROWS

Rows 1-8 stocking stitch
Row 9: knit, twisting stitches 15, 26, 37, 48, 59, 70, knit to end
Row 10: purl
Row 11: repeat row 9
Row 12: repeat row 10
Rows 13, 15 and 17: knit, remove stitches 15&16 to stitch holder, twist 180 degrees and replace on left needle, knit. Repeat for stitches 26&27, 37&38, 47&48, 58&59, 69&70, knit to end
Rows 14, 16 and 18: purl
Row 19, : knit, remove stitches 14&15&16 to a stitch holder, twist 180 degrees and replace on left needle, knit. Repeat for stitches 25&26&27, 36&37&38, 47&48&49, 58&59&60, 69&70&71, knit to end
Row 20: purl
Row 21: knit
Row 22: purl, remove stitches 69&70&71 to a stitch holder, twist 180 degrees and replace on left needle, Purl. Repeat for stitches , 58&59&60, 47&48&49, 36&37&38, 25&26&27, and 14&15&16, purl to end
Row 23: knit
Row 24: purl
Row 25: same as Row 19
Row 26: purl
Row 27: knit
Row 28: purl

Start with Malabrigo Mechita, held double

((For Rows 38, 42, 46, and 50 Bring in a single strand of Noro, using it to weave in front and behind knitted stitches))
IT WOULD PROBABLY BE EASIER TO KNIT EACH WRAP ROW, THEN TAKE A STRAND OF NORO ON A TAPESTRY NEEDLE AND WEAVE AND WRAP ACCORDING TO THE CHART. OR YOU COULD KNIT AS FOLLOWS:
Row 38: knit, weaving Noro and wrapping around stitches BEFORE KNITTING EACH STITCH INDIVIDUALLY. Do this for stitches three times around 10&11&12, once around 16&17, once around 23&24, once around 31&32, three times around 38&39&40, once around 44&45, once around 50&51, once around 60&61, once around 71&72, and once around 78&79
Row 39: purl
Row 40: knit
Row 41: purl
Reattach Noro
Row 42: weave in and out of each stitch, wrapping once around 11&12, once around 19&20, three times around 35&36&37, once around 46&47, once around 54&55, once around 63&64, three times around 72&73&74

Row 102: Purl until last 2 stitches, PFB, slip last stitch purlwise onto right needle, put right needle through eyelet from back to front and purl together with last stitch
Rows 104, 108, 112, 116, 120, 124, 128, 132, 136, 140, 144: same as Row 100
Rows 106, 110, 114, 118, 122, 126, 130, 134, 138, 142: same as Row 102
After Row 144, you will be in the middle of the entire piece with right side facing
Place stitches 1-38 back on needles
Break yarn and reattach at stitch 1 with wrong side facing

Rows 145 and 147 : knit across all 84 stitches (Shire)
Rows 146 and 148: purl
Rows 149-185: odd rows knit, even rows purl. Follow the chart, and do the opposite stitch to the corresponding row on squares with a horizontal line through it.

THERE’s A MISTAKE ON ROW 159
STITCH 59 SHOULD HAVE A HORIZONTAL LINE THROUGH IT

read odd (knit) rows from left to right and even (purl) rows from right to left
some of these rows are identical, so if you watch for that, you don’t have to read the chart for every row!
