Mods: wanted a beret/tam/slouch so increased 6 repeats to 8, 256 st total. Extended length slightly at crown. (Note, see Comments for increase mods.)

I frogged this yarn from my first attempt at the brim (too small), and it was very kinky on the ball. Didn’t realize it would affect my stitch evenness, but it sure did. I thought it would wash out more even, but it did not, so band stitching not as neat as I’d like. Lesson learned.

I overdyed the incredibly bright lime Heritage with a very little green and tan Rit dye. I used a union dye so both fibers would be affected. Was looking for slight color texture and a bit of a tone-down on the saturation. Very pleased with the resulting complex colors. Yarn has a wonderful texture and slight sheen.

This fits like a slouch and is very comfortable. I increased diameter by one more repeat from Carlos’s gray version here since it was still pretty snug. This one I was looking for something more graceful and non-hat-head producing. I’m now working on my third for my sister’s Christmas present in Madelinetosh Twist Light with the slouch mods here, and it’s not as loose as the Heritage, so more of a comfortable cap.

This is a lovely pattern. Note: Used #00 16” circ needle as cable holder. Worked absolutely perfectly, and I tried everything first, all shapes sizes, metal, wood and plastic. Nothing beats that #00 Addi lace.
