Notes

Fast and easy pattern and very attractive result. Followed pattern exactly except used twisted knit on ribbing to make it neater. Fits a bit loose even with the twists, after washing and blocking. Next time I’ll make the ribbing extend a few more rows.

Yarn very soft. Pictures not true to color--all too washed out. Color is a rich deep burgundy with dark red highlights in sunlight. Closest is the flat picture.

Crown decreases make a fairly flat top, so shaping is straight sided and then flat top. Looks great. I may try again changing the K3tog to centered double decrease and see how it looks. I’m not 100% sold on the feathery/bobble look of the p3tog.

Note: the p3tog is absolutely the best solution. I tried other decreases, including centered double, and they just didn’t have the softness or unique look of the original pattern. Ended up frogging them.

Finally got a picture of Katie wearing it.
