Just started this hat on 1/8/13 - giving it a test run before I make a ‘real’ one lol. And I think I did 1 short-row too many b/c it seems like it will be ‘inside out’ when I’m done. But I still think it will work. Not doing a contrasting band on this one; I’d like to put some dark green ribbon around it for St. Patty’s Day - as long as it fits. Starting the crown so it should be done in another day or two; since I have to work during the day I don’t get a lot of time at night to work on it but I found the pattern easy to work from; just should have counted my short-row work accurately.

1/11/13 Finished last night. Turns out I did count the short-rows correctly; but I like so many other messed up on the k2 past wrap stitch…..but I think for my first attempt its ok. Will def be making more of these. But will use different yarn; I do think this is a bit ‘soft’ for this hat. All in all I am pleased with my results. Oh, and the crown - I couldn’t find my sz 7 dpn and ended up using sz 3 when I had to change to dpn…so maybe I need to do a bit of blocking; we’ll see.

1/15/13 - I ended up giving this hat to my co-worker’s daughter, Maddie, since she has the neck scarf to match. She just loves this set as you can tell. She has requested a set in turquoise. I think I will be making this a bit smaller around the neck area too. Maby jut 12” instead of 15”.
