The stockings from the Vidzeme Region in Latvia very often show striped patterns and I was intrigued to knit a pair of these.

The original pair dates from the 2nd half of the 19th century, from Piebalga Novads.

The short description in the book says:
“space between ornament zones = 4cm”

I choose very natural bavarian pure sheep wool for the light parts and latvian yarn from Limbazi for the blue parts.
