HOW I MADE THE LOOM:
Bought a “ready to paint frame” - removed the canvas -
grounded the wood and mod podged with newsprint
paper - decided to keep it as it is I like this recycled vintage look.
Download the pin template from Roger Stark.
print out, I transfer the placement for the nails
with a pricker, predrell the holes and hammer in
the nails.
I have to watch out to get coated nails, the
first ones were pure and will rub off blacky ;-/
and one day rust?
next day: they imm. did.
Replaced the nails.
German: “Sockelleistennaegel”
English: wire brads 18 gauge 1.25”
They do have a little nailhead that helps not to
slip over to easily but also do not complicate
to pull over the finished patch.
concerning the patch:
18th June.
made the beginning and my 4 1/2 year old niece
took over. Finished with a crochet edge.
It was soooo cute to watch her weaving :-)
