Love this yarn! Love this pattern! And it really was a colour adventure!

We lived in Turkey for two years and Akimbo, “Hands on Hips” design, is a popular motif in Turkish carpets. The colours from Colour Adventures are prominent in some of the carpets we brought home. Perfect combo!

I purchased some gorgeous Colour Adventure yarn for another pattern, but didn’t realize it was self-striping and not a gradient. Although they would have been amazing, I couldn’t bring myself to make socks out of such great yarn. So when I searched the colorway and saw this project by Anadiomena it seemed like the perfect chance to try out my first Stephen West pattern (been wanting to forever)!

Slip everything purlwise. When M1 on the slipped stitch, (switching back to MC) pick up the older yarn bar.

Increase body to 303.

Started chevron and decided to use the slipped stitches in lieu of markers, but in places my MC and CC are the same so it is hard to notice if they don’t line up. Made a few mistakes and had to be very careful to count the magic number “15” and really look for those “Blackberry” slipped stitches when they blended into the “Dancing in the Fire”
