Notes

Was helped very much by Virtant’s notes and encouraged by her lovely end result. Started by following her advice and was very careful to calculate gauge in pattern not ribbing.

Pattern gauge was 25 st = 5 in
With Knit Picks Wool of Andes on size 9 needles I got 4.5 in. I needed to knit a vintage 10 and the small in the pattern was a vintage 12, so I did the math and my tighter gauge was going to give me the one size smaller I needed if I following the 12. Came out perfect to my desired bust and waist. Will have to see how it fits my sis to know for sure.

Back: C.O 68 work 14 rows in ribbing. Increase next row using the following spacing (PFB increase by purling into front and back): P5 PFB, P7 repeat till 5 stitches remain, PFB P5

Followed pattern exactly. Couldn’t solve Virktant’s problem #2 and also where the cable cross was the row of the cast off left strange shapes in the pattern. Once seemed up they were funny and didn’t meet in a neat pattern, however, I don’t think it will be too big of a problem when worn.

Purchased adorable buttons from Nordic Art Supplies via Etsy.
