cap decrease to 10 stitches

Button loop - make crochet chain 8 stitches

knit cap gap together as follows:

knit and bind off first two stitches

Insert button loop, knit 1 from needle 1, 1 from end of loop and knit 1 from needle 2 and bind off

knit and bind off to 3 stitches from end

Insert button loop, knit 1 from needle 1, 1 from end of loop and knit 1 from needle 2

Knit and bind off last two stitches
