Notes

  • Donated for Fundraising to Gallery North.

  • Video Tutorial

  • Used the 3 needle bind-off to join the two tail sections. Knit each tail section with the same number of rows. (41) This gives you the correct stitch count when you pick up the stitches for the chicken body.

  • Knit striped sections of the body in stockinette.

  • Added two extra rows to the neck.

  • Used Big Twist Mustard for the beak with Size 6 DPNs.

  • For the beak after there were 5 stitches I purled back and then K 1, slip one, K2 tog, PSSO, K 1; pull through the 3 remaining stitches and then did the seaming.

  • Double Wattle (knit the wattle and before ending it did a few plain rows and then knit the pattern in reverse.)

  • Created an inner “beanbag” with nylon sock and Poly-Fil Poly-Pellets

  • Helpful Seaming Video

  • Source for Safety Eyes

  • Decided to set a goal of 24 Emotional Support Chickens in 2024. (24in24) This is ESC #39
