Followed pattern exactly; very nice and also easy to knit pattern.

Added the lace bind-off edging, which I think is essential to adding some nice finishing flair to this pattern. It took quite a long time, but was worth the effort. It is very simple to do.

This is for a dear family friend who is now wheelchair bound. I was looking for something that might have a nice touch (that lace edge), be suitable for a wheelchair in not having an extensive length at the back to get in the way, and sit well on the shoulders. I am hoping this meets all those needs.

Due to the recipient being a resident at the Long Island State Veterans Home, this shawl may be subject to regular laundering along with everything else. Hoping the 100% acrylic will tolerate washing.

Doing traditional blocking, but know that will be the last of that for this item. After that I did a little steam blocking of the lace to set. I do think without any blocking whatsoever this pattern would “set” fine in acrylic. It seemed to be fine just after washing.

Don’t feel the absolute love for this yarn as so many others do. This is my first time using it…I had never been able to find it until recently. I like it, don’t LOVE it. I much, much prefer the Caron Cakes lines when you are considering these similar yarns. I even recently used a new Caron Cake that is 100% acrylic (most of them have a wool component) and it is much more pleasant in hand than the Mandala. Here.
Update: used this yarn several times since this project. I am liking knitting the Mandala yarn so much more in these other projects. Not sure if colorways are different in texture or perhaps each skein can have a slightly different feel.
