Gift of wool from a student! “100% new wool”. Not much else readable on the label, alas. Lovely oatmeal-y color. Browsed for worsted weight sock patterns that wouldn’t bore me to tears, but that weren’t lace (not with this yarn). And found these. And as I worked on them… I realized I was looking at the sock version of a John Watson jumper.

And then I realized they were too damn narrow. And I didn’t really like the two-stitch cable. Time to frog. Increased eight stitches (which may have been excessive, but was the easiest for adapting the cable). Also made the toe less pointy.
