I really should have bought another skein of the white yarn.
The hood has come out about an inch shorter than it should be. I would also recommend going by the inch measurements in the instructions rather than the centimetres as the conversions are a little off.

For the stripe pattern after the seed stitch is finished I did the below:
Work 5 rows in main colour.
Work 3 rows in contrast colour.
Work 5 rows in main colour.
Work 3 rows in contrast colour.
Work 6 rows in main colour.
Work 2 rows in contrast colour.
Work 7 rows in main colour.
Work 2 rows in contrast colour.
Work 8 rows in main colour.
Work 1 row in contrast colour.
Work 9 rows in main colour.
Work 1 row in contrast colour.
Work 18 rows in main colour.
Work 2 rows in contrast colour.
Work 2 rows in main colour.
Then the seed stitch begins again.

I also knit the very last row in the contrast colour as well as the three needle cast off so that the hood has a vertical contrast stripe.
