30 jan 21 - all the ksh/isager combinations came out at 18sts/10cm. Interesting. Will try the spinni/ksh again I think on 3.75mm.
4 feb - bought some ksh in peacock to test colour combos. Spinni/ksh on 3.75mm -.

18 nov 21 - stupid name for a knitting pattern but anyway. Bought sweater at op shop yesterday, have frogged and washed. Swatching w some leftover bits. Lowest band - 10 plies on 5mm. Middle band - 8 plies on 5mm. Upper band - 8 plies on 4.5mm.

1 aug 22 - swatch in isager spinni tweed held double on 3.75mm needle, 22sts. Seems to be quite a lot of bias. Will try 3.5mm in stranded work.
7 aug - finished! Not very pleasant to work flat. Colours appear to have come out well. Will wash and block.

25 mar 22 - cast on 60sts in sashiko on 4mm needle. Colourwork on 4.5mm.
27 mar - washed. Gauge is 21sts.

2 feb 21 - cast on yesterday. Spinni on 3mm needles, 50 sts across, 38 deep. Need to wash and dry but st gauge looks too loose. 3mm too big a needle size. Will try smaller in difft colour.
4 feb - hard to measure gauge. Think it’s only about 24st - going for 38 in laceweight. No idea how could get row gauge then bc this is 38 rows and not quite 10cm (although that’s the light fingering row gauge)
22 mar - cast on 68 sts on 2mm needle. Knitting chart M (sleeve lace pattern).
25 mar - yes, 2mm needle is the way to go. Crazy!

31 dec 21 - hmm, washed and dried and seem to be getting about 14.5sts on 5mm needle and 13.5sts on 5.5mm. But I have suspicions about this yarn’s propensity to spring back! (As per my Japanese dolman experience)
27 jan 2022 - but, there’s a lovely new pattern - people by kineko yuki - that I would like to integrate w this. Bc I like the shape but not so much the bobbles, intricate centre cable.

special techniques
Right Twist (RT): K2tog, leaving stitches on left-hand needle. Knit first stitch only. Slip both stitches from needle.
Left Twist (LT): Slip one stitch knitwise, then slip next stitch knitwise and return stitches to left-hand needle. Knit into the back of the second stitch, then knit into the back of both stitches together. Slip both stitches from needle.
1 oct 22 - in snaeldan 2-ply for colour. 3.5mm
2 oct 22 - wys bfl on 4mm

29 oct - NZ naturally lighter shade swatch on 4mm needles finished. also swatched pattern in darker shade.
30 oct - have completed stocking stitch portion of bo peep swatch.
31 oct - continued on bo peep swatch. Turns out that it’s a Z-twist yarn and loses some twist when you knit by wrapping the yarn counter-clockwise. Which is not so great for cables/twisted sts. Would need to knit wrapping yarn clockwise w this yarn (which also means working through the back loop on the following row). Tiresome much?

15 may 22 - stocking st version w Brooklyn tweed arbor on 4mm. Need to steam block. Like it in stocking st better but row gauge is different to garter so chart is somewhat distorted (elongated) in knitted fabric.
