Fun pattern to work. To get the curls to be tight, it’s important to crochet the sc’s under one strand of yarn (as opposed to crocheting into the v and catching 2 strands). I chose to do 3 scs into each of the 15 sc’s that will form the curls.

Now that I’m completely done, I’m wondering what it would look like with a rolled-up cuff. I’m pretty sure these need to be made a tad longer if wanting a cuff. I made a child’s sized hat. I need to find a child to see how well it actually fits.

Also…it is difficult to get the top to close completely just going around one time (as instructed). I wove the yarn in and out around the top a second time, pulling tightly, and then even criss-crossed across the top once or twice. I got it closed, but the larger the hat, the more one will need to work at it to get it to close up at the top.
