I should have looked at my previous notes. I would suggest changing to a smaller hook when working the body of the bear in the design because it tends to stitch a bit heavier than the filet squares. The smaller hook may help keep the gauge consistent. Of course, we all crochet a bit differently so apply this suggestion after considering your own technique.
