2013-01-17 Oops. I forgot to join one of the squares along the left side as I was knitting it. I will graft the edge and “only I will know.” Well, you’ll know if you’re reading this. Shhhh… don’t tell anybody.
2012-12-29 Damn, I am really working on the 11th, meaning I skipped one and I had to rip back.
2012-12-27 I am up to 11 squares, working on the 12th, which will complete the third star around the crown of the hat.
2012-12-17 I finally finished one of the stars, so here’s a photo. Some really UNeven knitting here, not my proudest moment. But it all goes away in blocking, right? Right? I hope. Sorry about the color, it’s all over the map in these pictures.
2012-12-16 I tried to read the stitch pattern from the diagram, and I was losing my place too much. Now I’ve annotated the diagram with stitch counts and I count as I go… much better.
2012-12-15 This is too complicated to knit at work… I keep having to rip back! But I will persist.
2012-12-07 This will be an experiment in “negative space.” The entrelac squares have a parallelogram motif, garter outlined by twisted and slipped stitches. The plain-knitted sections of each square should combine into a 5-pointed star once 5 squares all meet at a corner. There will be 6 or maybe 9 such corners on the completed hat.
