I saw the movie Don’t Look Up. I’m trying to replicate the crocheted sweater astronomer Kate Dibiasky wears in the final scenes of the movie. I’m sure I will look just like Jennifer Lawrence in it…haha.
Using mostly half-double crochets except for the zig-zaggy parts. I’m joining and turning at every round because (without being able to inspect it closely) it appears that’s what was done on hers. In the one shot at the dinner table you can see the joining place running down the side under her arm. At least it looks like a join to me rather than a seam.
My zig-zags are coming out a bit more rounded than hers but I think it still looks good. It’s been challenging to accomplish the raglan increases and still keep the zig zags lined up on top of each other. I’m just making it up and increasing or decreasing when I need to.
I think the upper part of the sleeves are going to be roomy but that’s ok with me because I like to be comfortable (especially so on the end of the world).
